The Amazfit GTR 3 is available as a standard model and as a Pro version. As the name suggests, the Amazfit GTR 3 Pro is more extensively equipped. It not only has a microphone, but also a speaker. This allows taking and making calls on the wrist that are received on the paired smartphone.
It is also equipped with a 2.3 gigabyte music storage. The display is correspondingly larger at 1.45 inches compared to the base variant and its 1.39 inches. Apart from these differences, the Amazfit GTR 3 and Amazfit GTR 3 Pro feature the same functions. Both watches support more than 150 different activities, analyze sleep, measure stress, and give women the ability to track their periods. With just the push of a button, the smartwatch also determines four health parameters at once for its owners.

Two versions of the Amazfit GTR 3
The “R” in the product name of the Amazfit GTR 3 and the GTR 3 Pro stands for “round”. This refers to the round shape of the smart watch’s case. The diameter is 46 millimeters in each case. However, different sized displays have been installed. The GTR 3 has a 1.39-inch AMOLED screen. The GTR 3 Pro has a full 1.45 inches. Consequently, the edges of the Pro variants are slimmer.
Both watches weigh 32 grams each and thus undoubtedly belong to the lightest models on the market. They are operated via the touchscreen on the one hand and the two buttons on the right edge of the casing on the other. In the case of the Amazfit GTR 3, prospective buyers have a choice between a completely neutral and thus black model and a combination of a gold bezel and beige wristband.
Design choices for different tastes
The Amazfit GTR 3 Pro comes with a gold case and a brown leather strap, or alternatively completely in black. In addition, the manufacturer offers a strap made of fluoroelastomer. The complete collection of these smartwatches is waterproof and may be worn while swimming.
In order to have even more design freedom, there is a wide range of watchfaces. Among them are more than 100 designs with an always-on display, where the display is permanently active. More than 15 of these watch faces are animated, and eight can be edited in the user’s sense thanks to a modular design. The wristbands provide further opportunities for individualization. They are 22 millimeters wide and can be exchanged if necessary.
Everyday life, health, sports: everything in one watch
Since only the Pro versions of the Amazfit GTR 3 have a built-in speaker, wearers can only use these watches to accept and make phone calls that come in on the paired cell phone. The entire series is equipped with the manufacturer’s own Zepp OS operating system. It ensures compatibility with Android and iOS. Thus, the smartwatch notifies about news on the smartphone at any time.
All variants have a microphone. It enables voice commands, for which Amazon Alexa was brought to the Amazfit GTR 3. For example, you can dictate appointments or an alarm time at which the wearer wants to start the day. Smart home devices can also be controlled via the wrist.
If you want to have access to your favorite music at all times, you have to get the Amazfit GTR 3 Pro. It comes with a 2.3 gigabyte memory. According to the manufacturer, it can store up to 470 tracks.
A great helper for fitness tasks
The Amazfit GTR 3 smartwatches (check out the Amazfit store) can also be classified as fitness watches – after all, they support more than 150 different activities. They even automatically recognize eight sports, which include walking, running, cycling or rowing on the ergometer. They record outdoor routes via GPS so that they can display the actual route with additional data in the app afterwards. Tools like a barometric altimeter are on board to determine information like air pressure or altitude.
Not many wearables also measure the pulse in water, but the GTR 3 is equipped with this capability. After completing a workout, it reveals how long its owner has to plan for recovery and how the load as well as the effect are to be estimated. It takes parameters such as the maximum oxygen capacity (VO2max) into account.
More features for your everyday life
In addition to exercise, health plays another important role in this watch. At the touch of a button, it outputs four important parameters at once. Such a measurement takes 45 seconds. As a result, the Amazfit GTR 3 displays the pulse, the oxygen saturation (SpO2) in the blood, the breathing rate and the stress level. Basically, the smart watch permanently monitors the heart rate so that it warns in case of strikingly high or low values.
Detailed sleep monitoring can also be expected from the Amazfit GTR 3. However, it not only registers when its wearer takes a rest at night, but it is also able to recognize a nap in the afternoon. It also tracks the quality of breathing during sleep and differentiates between different sleep phases. If there is cause to, it gives tips on how to improve sleep habits.
Ladies have the option of monitoring their menstrual cycle with Amazfit’s GTR 3. It then makes predictions about upcoming fertility phases and menstruations.
Conclusion
Finally, it’s worth pointing out a difference in terms of battery life between the GTR 3 and the GTR 3 Pro. The Pro versions achieve up to twelve days on one charge, while the base models even manage up to 21 days. During intensive use, these values are reduced accordingly.
Beyond that, the smartwatch is consistently pleasing and scores points with both men and women in our opinion.
